Forecast Discussion
Zonal flow aloft will keep conditions today calm and pleasant as southeastern Ohio sits behind a warm front at the surface. While this will allow for south-southwesterly winds to bring warm, moist air up towards the Ohio Valley, considerable rain chances aren’t a concern today. However, come Monday, clouds will begin to build as the excess moisture increases the risk for storms to develop. An upper-level trough will develop later tonight as an occluded mid-latitude cyclone travels alongside it. Rain produced tonight through Tuesday could cause localized flooding according to NWS Charleston’s hazardous weather outlook. Please be cautious during this time frame and watch out for any flooding that may occur. Currently, storms are not expected to be severe thankfully. Tuesday overnight will see a rapid stabilization as a cold front and high-pressure clear out excess clouds. While temperatures are expected to reach the mid-to-upper 80s and lows in the mid-60s, it’s a relatively welcome change from the blistering heat from this past week.
