Forecast Discussion
Flood Watch remains in effect until 2:00 AM Thursday, the 28th. We are also under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9:00 PM tonight, primarily for the potential of locally damaging wind gusts. There is also a concern for localized, potentially significant flooding, especially in areas that have already received heavy rainfall today. This is due to a slow-moving cold front moving across the region.
Additionally, the area remains under a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall, meaning heavy rain could lead to flooding in some locations. We are also under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe thunderstorms, with the possibility of isolated storms producing stronger wind gusts.
Late tonight into Thursday morning, dense fog and/or very low stratus clouds are likely to develop.
By Thursday afternoon, drier air will move into the region, bringing more seasonable temperatures and quieter weather conditions. A dry and stable pattern is expected to continue through the upcoming weekend.
