Forecast Discussion

A stationary front at the surface was enhanced by an upper level jet streak aloft near Canada. This, along with a strong ridge in the upper level jet has allowed cold air over the northern part of the state to retreat north, and allow warm air to advect in. Highs today in the upper Ohio Valley should reach the lower and middle 80s. The warm front that was previously a stationary front will attach itself to a surface low pressure. This has allowed a cold front to form over northwest Ohio and southern Michigan. This will strengthen, and push southeast Friday into Friday night. Because of the timing of this frontal passage, any severe weather threat should remain marginal, with an isolated damaging straight line wind gust or two. After the frontal passage, Saturday looks to be quite miserable, with highs only in the low 50s with rain likely. However, high pressure will build to our south and east allowing for warmer temperatures, and sunshine for your Easter Sunday.
