Forecast Discussion

Throughout today it will become increasingly cloudy. There has been a high pressure system over the majority of northern Ohio the past couple days and as it begins to move east it will push higher pressure into the Athens area along with increased cloud coverage. There will also a warm front oriented East to West that will be pushed over the area on Thursday. This warm front won’t necessarily bring a noticeable increase in surface temperatures, but it will bring precipitation to the area starting late Wednesday night. On Friday morning there will also be two cold fronts passing through Southern Ohio leaving slightly cooler temperatures for the weekend and more rain showers throughout Friday evening. These cold fronts will result in mostly cloudy conditions Saturday and Sunday as well as temperatures in the mid-60.
