Forecast Discussion

Over the next two days conditions will remain relatively calm with cloudy skies and slightly warmer temperatures with highs in the upper 70s. Thursday night the atmospheric pressure will begin to decrease as a mid latitude cyclone moves over the Great Lakes. The low pressure system will have a big cold front that will stretch down through Ohio. This cold front will pass over Athens on Friday bringing rain showers into the area for Friday and Saturday with the possibility of thunderstorms on Friday. There will also be a drastic decrease in temperatures to start off the weekend with high temperatures in the low 50s as a result of this cold front. After this system passes, Sunday will be relatively sunny and warmer with temperatures in the 70s.
