Forecast Discussion
A cold front passed through last night leaving much colder temperatures for today. There is a small chance of snow flurries early this morning but will be followed by clear skies this afternoon. Even though the precipitation will be finished this morning, Athens County will continue to be in a Flood Warning due to the large accumulation of rain these past couple of days. Strong sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph are to be expected this morning with gusts around 40 mph. These winds are the lingering result of the cold front passing through and will calm down this afternoon. Looking later into the week, Thursday and Friday will be slightly warmer with temperatures in the upper 40s and 50s with a chance of rain Friday morning. Followed by a slight cool down for the weekend with temperatures in the high 30s Saturday and Sunday and chances of freezing rain Sunday afternoon.
