I’m Hunter Uhl and a current junior in the Honors Tutorial College pursuing Geography and Environmental Studies degrees, with a minor in Meteorology. In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, and watching anime. In the future, I hope to work with the ODNR or NPS.
My name is Henry Grof and I am from Centerville, Ohio. I am at Ohio University pursuing a degree in meteorology. I started my education here in the spring semester of 2020 after completing my associate’s degree in communication from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. I am a member of OUCAMS. My hobbies are playing videogames, working on computers, and biking. My plans after graduation is to do broadcast meteorology.
Hi everyone, my name is Cole Borden, and I am a sophomore majoring in meteorology. I am from the Cleveland area about 25 minutes west of it, so we are just outside the snow belt which is good because I hate snow. I graduated high school in 2019 and plan on graduating Ohio University in 2023. After graduation I plan on working as a broadcast meteorologist. My one main hobby is playing basketball with some friends. Lastly, my favorite weather phenomena are hurricanes.
Casey is currently a Senior at Ohio University majoring in Meteorology. He is from Saint Clairsville, Ohio. He enjoys all types of weather, but tornados, hurricanes, and winter weather are his favorites. Some of his hobbies include following sports and playing video games. After graduation he plans are to get a job with the National Weather Service.
Katie (Davison) Palavecino
Katie graduated from OU with her bachelors in Meteorology and Physics in 2001 and went on to receive a Masters in Meteorology from Penn State in 2003. Following grad school she moved to DC and worked as a Meteorologist for a government contractor and in web development for the next several years. In 2009, Katie’s technical degrees and web experience landed her a job at the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Examiner in the E-Commerce unit.
Katie, her husband, and two children (Leo and Chloe) currently reside in Alexandria, VA, where they keep an active lifestyle swimming, biking, and/or running daily.
Sydney is a senior majoring in meteorology and world religions with a minor in journalism. She is from Pataskala, OH, a small town outside of Columbus, and graduated from Watkins Memorial High School in 2018. Within the field, she is passionate about severe weather and dreams of the day she gets to see her first tornado. After graduation, she’d like to pursue a career in aviation meteorology and work for either the FAA or a private airline.
Manan is currently a senior at Ohio University studying Meteorology. He is from New Albany, Ohio, northeast side of Columbus, and graduated from New Albany Plain Local School on May of 2018. He is very interested in all aspects of extreme weather, but is most interested in winter and tropical weather forecasting. Manan’s interest in Meteorology began when a significant derecho event impacted majority of Ohio Valley region on June of 2012. Outside of classes, he is also a member of Ohio University’s Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (OUCAMS). Besides being deeply interested in meteorology, he is a big fan of Ohio sports along with cricket fan of national team of India. After completing his education, Manan plans to become a forecaster in government or private sector.
Eden Koval is a junior Meteorology student with Minors in Mathematics and Japanese. She was born and raised in Westerville, Ohio. Her passion for severe weather began at a young age and eventually led her to Ohio University. After studying hard and graduating, Eden hopes to one day work at the Japan Meteorological Agency in Tokyo and conduct research on hurricanes.
I’m Kevin Celeste from Mentor, Ohio. Currently, I’m a senior here at OU, pursuing my Geography – Meteorology Degree and I am also a member of OUCAMS. My favorite topics of meteorology include thunderstorms, hurricanes, winter storms, and mid-latitude cyclones. After graduation, my plans are to get a job with the National Weather Service. My other hobbies include traveling, playing videogames, and watching the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Mazoun Awlad Thani
Mazoun is currently a senior majoring in Meteorology at Ohio University. She is also working toward getting her Geographic Information Science (GIS) Certificate. She is mostly interested in severe weather and storm chasing. Aside from school responsibilities, Mazoun enjoys exploring new challenging hiking trails as hiking is her way to get in touch with the nature and invites her sense of adventure.
