Ahmed completed his Masters Degree from the Geography Department with a specialization on Tropical Climatology. His masters research was on the relationship between sea surface temperature in the Bay of Bengal and monsoon rainfall in Bangladesh. Ahmed is currently working on his PhD in the Department of Coastal Resources Management at East Carolina University. His research is on Intraseasonal Variations in Precipitation from the Indian to Western Pacific Oceans as a Forcing Mechanism for ENSO, funded by NASA.
