Class of 2018

Email: sokoljoanna04@gmail.com

Joanna graduated in 2018 with her B.S. in Meteorology and a minor in Environmental Plant Biology. She was involved with many organizations and wonderful experiences during her time at OU. She had the pleasure of being the Vice President for OUCAMS, the President of Bobcats Recycle, and the Treasurer of EcoReps. During her freshman and sophomore year, she was an active part in programming and participating in the first ever sustainability floor in the residence halls on campus. Joanna helped initiate events, such as the annual meteorological symposium, into becoming Zero Waste certified. After traveling to Montana, Canada, and Panama to learn how climate change affects communities and local species, she has realized she wants to travel in hopes to learn more about these topics and grow as an individual.
Currently, she is moving to New Zealand to work on different farms among the two islands. When she returns, she plans on continuing to educate the public on how to reduce their amount of waste and how to be more environmentally conscious.
