Katie graduated from OU with her bachelors in Meteorology and Physics in 2001 and went on to receive a Masters in Meteorology from Penn State in 2003. Following grad school she moved to DC and worked as a Meteorologist for a government contractor and in web development for the next several years. In 2009, Katie’s technical degrees and web experience landed her a job at the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Examiner in the E-Commerce unit.

Katie, her husband, and two children (Leo and Chloe) currently reside in Alexandria, VA, where they keep an active lifestyle swimming, biking, and/or running daily.
