Rebecca Mitten is the current Webmaster for Scalia Laboratory and is studying Meteorology at Ohio University with a minor in Business. She lives in Frankfort, OH and was the Secretary of the Ohio University Chapter of American Meteorological Society (OUCAMS) club as well as Treasurer for Plant Biology Club for the ’25-’26 school year. She was also a Student Volunteer at the Wilmington, OH National Weather Service Office for spring of 2026.

Rebecca loves autumn and winter weather events, but her favorite season is spring! She also loves gardening, woodworking, chickens, racing remote-controlled cars with her older brother, and collecting bricks & pennies. She also absolutely loves cirrus clouds, wants to experience diamond dust someday, and go far north to fully see the northern lights in the future.

Rebecca plans to focus more in agricultural meteorology or meteorological engineering when she graduates in December of 2026!
