Emma is a graduate student earning her M.S in Geography – Meteorology. She is from Columbus, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University from 2020 to 2024 where she earned her B.S in Atmospheric Science. Going into meteorology was an easy decision for her as she remembers being fascinated with severe weather from an early age, and studying meteorology has made her love it even more. While at OSU, she was also a member of Scarlet and Grey forecasting and the Meteorology Club. During her senior year, she had the privilege to present a group project at the 2024 AMS Student Conference poster session. The project studied the micro-scale climate of cow hutches and the implications for cattle health.
Currently, Emma is a teaching assistant for Synoptic Meteorology after starting her graduate career at Ohio University in August 2024. Her personal research interests are in severe weather and emergency management. She plans to enter a career in operational meteorology with either the National Weather Service or the private sector.
