A cooling trend is expected to occur as an occluded mid-latitude cyclone moves towards the region as well as multiple upper-level troughs move through. A continued pattern of active weather will be anticipated throughout the week leading to dreary skies and rainy conditions. Today into tonight could be quite windy with winds at 5-10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph today. Make sure any holiday decorations you may have outside are secured today.

Tuesday will be pleasant as high-pressure and zonal flow briefly settles in over Ohio, however, don’t expect that to last. By the evening, rain chances return once more Tuesday night into Wednesday as another trough slowly moves towards Ohio and two low-pressure systems sandwiches the state. Thursday will yet again tease us with pleasant, albeit cold, conditions with high-pressure filling in. By Friday morning, another deep trough will dig into the region with another mature mid-latitude cyclone barreling through bringing the chance for snow flurries.
