Forecast Discussion
Upper level zonal flow will keep most of the moisture from a stationary front to our north for the rest of Sunday. Temperatures will still be cool tonight as skies will be clear. The possibility will exist for dense fog Monday morning, specifically in the river valley. Remaining moisture clears out on Monday as high pressure develops over the Appalachians. A weak shortwave trough begins to develop over the region Monday night. This will allow for some moisture to move in during the late evening. With moisture moving in that late, storms are not possible, but some pop-up showers could be possible. On Tuesday, more showers are possible due to a low pressure system associated with a cold front. Ridging will build back up on Wednesday resulting in a clearing of clouds from Tuesday. On Thursday, another cold front approaches the state, but the frontal boundary will not be over the region, so storms and showers will be spotty. Storms are possible into Friday, but ridging returns on Saturday to clear out the rest of the weekend.
