Forecast Discussion

As we move into the work week, sunny and calm conditions are expected. However, as an upper-level ridge develops, a broad region of high pressure at the surface and aloft will spread over much of the eastern United States. This high-pressure will sit over the area for much of the work week, allowing temperatures to soar back into the lower 90s once again. As dry air throughout the atmosphere pushes into the Ohio Valley region, dry heatwave conditions could return once again. Temperatures could rise to nearly 93 on Thursday and will remain steady through next week. These conditions are likely to persist into much of the work week through Thursday, however, a small upper-level trough will follow behind the large ridge, bringing the chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday and Saturday. While severity cannot be confidently determined right now, at the current moment these possible storms are not expected to be severe, thankfully.
