Forecast Discussion
Stable conditions are expected for the next couple of days as a minor ridge sits over the region with high-pressure at the surface. An approaching low-pressure system with an adjoined cold front will push eastward, bringing gusty winds on Wednesday. Gusts may be up to 30 mph in some spots with sustained winds between 10-15 mph. Make sure any loose outdoor decorations are brought inside or secured. Sunny conditions will continue through Thursday, but another approaching low will bring more rain to the area. This rain currently is expected to arrive by the evening hours, possibly hitting as many people are heading home from work. While we’ll see a slight warmup on Friday, a deep trough and upper-level low will dig into much of the eastern United States, and with multiple cold fronts pushing through, a steep drop in temperatures may be likely next week. Highs may only reach 50 to possibly even only the lower-40s. While we are multiple days ahead of this, it may be best to prepare any heavy jackets and gloves this weekend if you have to be out next week.
