Forecast Discussion

Tonight closes with clear skies overnight, and a return of our pleasant weather tomorrow as well. Temperatures in the high 70s still remain a little anomalous for this time of year, but be sure to make the most out of this warm, sunny day, because it won’t last forever! Overnight Friday, a troughing pattern will kick out the weak ridge that has been building in our area, delivering a cut-off low pressure system set to swing through the Midwest on Saturday.

Expect rain to arrive into the region late Friday night into Saturday morning along a warm front. This rain will taper off by the late morning, with a chance of some scattered showers into the afternoon along a cold front. As this moves through, winds will get a bit breezier, and temperatures will quickly plummet. Our area remains in a troughing pattern through the new week, which will result in chilly temperatures in the mid to low 50s taking hold amongst overcast skies. This pattern is likely to persist until the mid-week, so prepare for some dreary days ahead.
