Forecast Discussion
The remnants of Barry will move through today and into tonight with showers and storms likely. Rain chances should tapper down by sunset as the shortwave trough associated with Barry moves Eastward, but a few lingering showers are still possible overnight. Rainfall amounts near one inch. The overcast skies and rainfall will keep temperatures relatively cool by only reaching the low 80s. Tomorrow we will see a few isolated lingering storms for the afternoon hours with warming temps into the upper 80s. A ridge starts to build in by late week bringing with it dangerous heat for Friday and Saturday with temperatures in the upper 90s and heat index values in triple digits. The heat continues into the latter part of the weekend with highs in the mid 90s with a chance of a few pop-up showers and storms. The Excessive Heat Watch means that heat indices will be nearing the triple digits during the watch period (Friday-Saturday).
