Forecast Discussion
A mid-latitude cyclone continues to move eastward into the upcoming week. By the start of the evening, rain is likely to impact Athens because of this system. Although, it is not expected to linger into much of the overnight, so rain totals will likely only reach about 0.2 inches. By Monday morning, the cold front associated with this system will pass, leading to gusty conditions tomorrow. While the high could climb above today’s high, it likely won’t feel like it as sustained winds are expected to be between 15 and 20 mph, but gusts could reach up to 30 mph.
By Monday evening and into Tuesday, winds are expected to calm, and more stable conditions will follow. While clouds will remain, the chance for rain may come back Tuesday and Wednesday. However, this chance isn’t quite high so far. Temperatures will dip back down into the mid-50s once more, making it feel more like March again. By midweek, high-pressure will dominate, and calmer weather should greet us for the last week of March.
