Forecast Discussion

It has been a cool end to August with temperatures hovering in the mid to upper-70s and overnight lows in the mid-40s to low-50s, and fall-like weather is anticipated to continue. For the rest of your Labor Day Weekend, expect pleasant conditions and plenty of sunshine with highs near 80 degrees as high-pressure dominates the region. Heading into next week, calm conditions and highs in the low-80s are expected to continue at least through Tuesday before a strong upper-level low dips down into much of the Eastern United States causing much cooler, polar air from Canada to plunge southward making it feel like October. Overnight lows can be in the 40s with highs in the upper-60s to low-70s by mid-week and to end the work week. As the cold front surges south across the region, showers and a thunderstorm or two are possible Wednesday afternoon through the overnight on Thursday bringing some needed rain after a dry August as abnormally dry conditions start to creep Ohio (even though we are already above our annual rainfall for the year).
