Forecast Discussion

Clear skies continue to dominate the forecast today and tomorrow, as temperatures warm up to the higher 80s. Temperatures are expected to drop as the rain moves in Wednesday night. This is thanks to a cold front passing through southeastern Ohio early Thursday morning, with showers and thunderstorms possible for the afternoon and evening. Flash flooding remains possible, as total rainfall yields to be between 1-3”. A marginal risk (level 1 out of 4) for excessive rainfall has been issued for Wednesday night into Thursday. If commuting during this timeframe, avoid flooded roadways; turn around, don’t drown.

All the rain will clear out by Friday, having our last full weekend of summer starting nicely. Temperatures will get closer to the 70s, but 80-degree weather isn’t fully out of sight until next week. The rain returns next week, as the first day of autumn comes around.
