Spring will be in the air today! Highs will soar to near 70 degrees with calm winds. A picture perfect day will likely be in store, so if you are able to go out and enjoy the weather, today is no better day. With an increasing southerly breeze by nightfall, a warm spring night will ensue as lows may not even drop below 50 degrees tonight. Tomorrow we will continue the warm trend with temperatures cranking up to the low and mid 80’s. It’ll feel like early May rather than middle of March! however, our region will become more humid as the the day goes on with a blustery southwesterly wind at times. When we have enough moisture and very strong daytime heating, you run the risk of billowing thunder clouds. By late afternoon and especially into the evening we will see an increasing threat for spring thunderstorms as a cold front sweeps through the region Sunday night. The Storm Prediction Center has already issued a Slight 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather tomorrow. Main hazards will include damaging straight line winds and scattered large hail but thankfully these severe storms will likely be scattered and isolated. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! As the squalls pass, the night lows will plummet down to the lower 40’s and potentially upper 30’s as cooler Canadian air moves in.

Looking into the extended forecast our weather will become more seasonal as daily highs will be in the low and mid 50’s with night time lows into the 30’s. By Wednesday, there are signals that another warm trend will be coming in later in the week. Wednesday could see highs back up in the 60’s.
