Forecast Discussion

A high pressure system with some added humidity is going to be the flavor to close out the week. Warm temperatures, high humidity, and partly cloudy skies should serve as a weekend treat for everyone in the region, it’ll be a fantastic weekend to spend some time outdoors! Due to the higher humidity, be on alert for morning fog and heavy dew, but both of these things will not be an issue very long into the daytime hours.

As the weekend comes to a close, we’ll be tracking a potential storm system moving into the region, this will be accompanied with a chance at some showers and thunderstorms Sunday evening with this low-pressure disturbance, as well as a persistent rain threat through Monday, which can be accompanied by high totals of rainfall. This may lead to flood-prone areas being at risk, so be sure to stay alert to any potential weather advisories put out by the National Weather Service. The best way to do this is by following Scalia Lab or NWS Charleston, WV on twitter to get real-time updates!
