Forecast Discussion
With an upper level ridge now becoming prominent and high pressure dominating our region, skies will continue to be sunny and clear as we wrap up the weekend and begin the week. Temperatures will remain in their above-average ranges of the mid- to high-80s during the day, but dropping down to mid-50s at night. Chances of any precipitation don’t appear until Tuesday from incoming moisture, but chances are still quite low. These spotty potential rains may be from a trough that will move into our region come early Tuesday. On the other hand, rain chances look much more consistent on Friday and Saturday due to an incoming low-pressure system.
With this consistent high pressure and no cloud cover nor convection, Athens’ current D0 (Abnormally Dry) drought level may worsen.
