The Storm Prediction Center still has much of Ohio under a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather tomorrow, March 11th. This indicates that isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are likely to move through the region. The greatest threat for southeastern Ohio is expected to be severe wind gusts, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, either. These storms are expected to arrive in two broad timeframes: one in the morning, and the other in the afternoon. Morning thunderstorms will be the leftovers from today’s storms in Illinois and Indiana and depending on how much of these leftovers we receive will determine the intensity of the afternoon storms. Regardless of whether or not these morning storms weaken any later thunderstorms, we ask you to remain weather aware and vigilant for any changes in the forecast. Looking toward the end of the week, we can expect a cool-down once again as calmer weather dominates into the weekend. Cold air will trail behind tomorrow’s system, bringing temperatures back down into the mid-40s Thursday and Saturday, but warmer air from two separate systems Friday and Sunday will allow temperatures to warm back up into the upper-50s and 60s both days respectfully.
