A flood warning remains in effect until 10:45 AM for extreme northern Athens County and Perry County due to the Sunday Creek reaching minor flood stage. Specific locations impacted include Glouster, Shawnee, New Straitsville, Corning, Jacksonville, Trimble, Hemlock and Rendville. Remember, turn around don’t drown! Avoid flooded roadways and walkways if you encounter them.

Calm and mostly cloudy conditions are expected to settle into the region for Memorial Day today. These conditions will continue into the overnight hours with a chance for dense fog starting in the early morning hours for Tuesday. Be aware in case you run into patches of dense fog for the Tuesday morning commute. Tuesday will also be partly cloudy for most of the day before the first chance for rain returns Tuesday evening. Showers will increase in coverage as we head into the overnight hours for Tuesday into Wednesday with some of these showers being accompanied by a rumble of thunder or two. Looking ahead, Wednesday will feature a complete return of the rain before calm conditions settle back into the region and bring a pleasant end of the week.
