High pressure continues to dominate the region today, and will continue to dominate the region for the rest of this weekend, and into next week. Temperatures will soar into the mid to upper 80s this weekend and especially into next week. Tonight we could see some mostly cloudy skies as a small system will move into the area and could bring some rain for our friends off to our west but keep us dry and mostly cloudy here. Sunny and warm days will continue as we head into next week and beyond as this high pressure system doesn’t move as we are in this “Omega Block” pattern that is keeping us dry and warm. Athens is still under a D0 (Abnormally Dry) drought this weekend but it will only get worse as we continue with these warm and dry conditions for the foreseeable future.
