Today, expect much of the same rainy conditions. Due to these conditions, The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Athens County and its neighboring counties in effect until 7:00 AM on March 6th. Along with the flood watch, The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for Athens County in effect until 4pm today. Flooding in low-lying areas, creeks, or streams might have flooding occurring or imminent. Also keep watch of any roadways with ponding, as they may not be passable.

We will reach into the upper 60’s today however still rainy conditions as the day goes on and even a possible crack of thunder tonight with some scattered showers and thunderstorms. We are under a Marginal (1/5) Risk of severe weather. Tomorrow, expect some scattered rain showers in the late morning and some clearing as the day progresses. Highs in the upper 70’s

Saturday, more thunderstorms are possible. The National weather service has outlined a Slight (2/5) Risk for severe weather in much of the Ohio River Valley and Athens. Exact timing for storms is still unknown. After Saturday expect some calmer weather over our area for rest of the weekend through early next week as a possible system moves through mid-next week.
