Forecast Discussion
Following the passage of a weak cold front through the region this afternoon, high pressure will build in Friday in association with a weak long wave ridging pattern that will quickly move through by Saturday. As a result, mainly sunny skies will persist through the first part of Friday with some patchy dense fog in morning hours, before clouds increase toward the evening hours. An approaching cold front on Saturday will skirt north before stalling out to the north of our region. A chance for rain cannot be ruled out for the Athens region especially for the mid Saturday morning hours. Temps will gradually increase from the mid 80s on Friday, to the upper 80s by Saturday.
