Forecast Discussion

Our spot of high pressure will only last so long; as we move into the beginning of the week, our dry, clear, and sunny conditions will taper out. As the ridge Athens, OH has been under this week breaks down, it allows a cold front and some shortwaves to enter our region, bringing us chances of rain showers and thunderstorms for almost all of next week. The National Weather Service includes Athens, OH in the General Thunderstorm risk, where no severity is expected at this time. However, because there will be some poor shear, these storms may move slowly and produce some flooding.

Always be on the lookout for new alerts and updates as we move further into next week!
