The excessive rainfall risk has Athens placed under an elevated risk (level 2 out of 4) for today and Thursday. It is expected to downgrade to a limited risk (level 1 out of 4) for Friday and Sunday, giving us a small break on Saturday. Flooding is a major concern so watch for flooded areas and roadways. The heavy rainfall will most likely saturate the ground, creating streams and making low lying areas more prone to flooding.

There will be areas of fog before 10:00 am this morning along with Thursday morning. Light to moderate wind is expected for the next few days with damaging winds being a concern during thunderstorms on Thursday. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the low to high 80s while nighttime temperatures are expected to remain in the mid 60s to the low 70s. We expect to get a small break from the storms with some drier weather rounding out Friday and moving into Saturday. Chances for storms are expected to return for Sunday.
