A significant warm-up is expected in the upcoming week! As a ridge moves into the region and high-pressure settles in, southerly winds will carry warmer temperatures into the region. This will allow a warming trend to occur in Athens and will be a much-welcomed change to the frigid conditions! By the end of the weekend a low-pressure system will move above Ohio and will bring the chance for showers Sunday evening into Tuesday. By then, a cold front will make our temperatures plummet once more, so make sure you go out and enjoy the warmer temperatures while they last!
