Forecast Discussion

Precipitation ahead of the warm front will be in the area early Monday and last through the evening. The abundance of moisture carried up the jet stream from the Gulf of Mexico could mean nearly an inch of rainfall possible for Monday. Winds gust look to be exceptionally strong Monday night as the frontal boundaries move over the region with gusts up to 30 mph possible. Clouds remain for New Year’s Day, but precipitation will be east of the region as colder air moves in. Strong, nearly zonal flow will keep Wednesday dry and cloudy. Another low pressure system will brush by the region on Thursday, but quickly moves out as high pressure slowly develops over the course of the weekend.
