A Flood Watch is still in effect for Athens and much of southeast Ohio until Sunday, now expiring at 10 PM. During this time, sunshine will still be plentiful, but there will be scattered chances of slow-moving pop-up showers and thunderstorms throughout the week. Any rain and/or thunderstorms will have the potential to produce heavy rain due to this slow storm motion and high humidity values. During this whole week, highs will continue to be mild in the low to mid 80s and lows will also still be mild hanging around the high 60s and low 70s. Make sure to be weather award, the more rain that falls, the more saturated the ground gets, and the higher chance of flooding. If the road is covered in water, turn around as you never know how deep the water is. While you may know the road, any flowing water over it has the possibility of washing away the road underneath leaving a hidden deep and dangerous crevice. Continue to stay safe!
