Forecast Discussion

The remnants of Post-Tropical Cyclone Helene will stick around for much of the weekend, stalling over western Kentucky. This will allow showers to move up from the south because of the counterclockwise rotation of low-pressure systems. Thankfully, the homecoming parade much of the football game are not expected to be impacted by these showers. Though, rain could dampen the game around 6 pm tonight. Thankfully, the winds will be much calmer in comparison to yesterday as winds become E around 5 mph by kick-off with temperatures around 70. The homecoming parade may start of a little chilly in the lower 60s as winds pick up to around 5 mph, but other than cloudy skies, it’ll be pleasant start to today.

A trough in the upper atmosphere will allow temperatures to drop these next few days, but by Monday and Tuesday, it’ll stabilize with a surface high-pressure system, allowing the skies to clear yet again early next week.
