Forecast Discussion
Overnight, a cold front at the surface moved over southeastern Ohio from a long line of low-pressure systems. In conjunction with this front is a trough aloft digging over the Midwest. Cold Canadian air will follow behind these features, making today feel quite chillier than normal. A chance for some rain showers is possible as well, but the highest chances will be to our south. High-pressure and stable conditions will return by Sunday and will persist for the remainder of the forecast, which doesn’t bode well for the increasing drought moving into Ohio, and particularly southern and eastern Ohio. Unfortunately, according to the Climate Prediction Center, drought conditions may not improve in September. Overall, pleasant and sunny conditions are expected after today.
