Pleasant conditions will greet us today into Saturday as stable conditions persist in the area. With relatively high pressure at the surface and zonal flow moving into a ridging pattern, the next few days are expected to be dry and sunny, albeit hot. Unfortunately, this heat will remain stagnant with minimal sustained wind speeds to help stay cool as temperatures soar into the upper-80s. Come Saturday a stationary front will develop before developing into a mid-latitude cyclone Sunday. With southerly winds bringing warm, moist air up into the region, we could see showers and storms develop throughout Sunday. These showers and storms are expected primarily in the afternoon and overnight hours into Monday, but there is still a chance for some precipitation to develop throughout Sunday morning. As previously mentioned, showers are likely to carry over into Monday morning and during the daylight hours with a possibility of a rumble of thunder or two as well. However, the chance for precipitation to develop is not as high as it could be for Sunday. Thankfully, a minor cooling trend could occur this weekend through Monday as a cold front pushes through Sunday and Monday.
