Forecast Discussion
High pressure has moved in and is now centered over Michigan, resulting in sunny and pleasant weather for Athens! Since the cold front has passed, winds remain northerly today and highs have dropped down to the mid-60s to the low-70s to end our week, a bit lower than average today. Dry advection is going to cause dewpoints and relative humidities to drop, and there will potentially be enough low level flow to decrease river fog tomorrow morning. Once the high pressure moves further east tomorrow, southerly flow will return, and the upper level trough will dissipate and allow a ridge to move in.
At night, with minimal cloud cover and light winds, Frost Advisories have been issued for northern Ohio and portions of West Virginia, as lows down to 32 degrees may occur in certain areas, especially rural locations.
