Forecast Discussion
High-pressure at the surface continues to remain over much of the United States. Upper-level ridging will only enhance this and allow stable conditions to remain. While sunny skies are welcome from the overcast and rainy weather we’ve experienced the past few days, because of the persistent high-pressure and ridge aloft, temperatures today are likely to continue to soar into the lower-to-mid 90s with relative humidity values reaching around mid-70%. Muggy conditions are likely to be present today into the evening. As we move into Wednesday, a broad, minor trough will follow behind the ridge aloft, and a cold front will move southeastward throughout the day. Clouds will begin to build Wednesday evening into Thursday as this cold front moves over southeast Ohio overnight. While rain chances exist throughout Thursday as a whole, the probability for showers and thunderstorms so far has the greatest likelihood to move through the region between the afternoon and evening hours. By Friday and Saturday, high-pressure will fill back in behind this cold front, and thankfully temperatures are expected to drop back down into the lower 80s!
