An approaching cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms today, with a chance for some of those to be severe this afternoon into the evening hours. The Storm Prediction Center has outline our region in a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather, with the main hazards being damaging wind gusts and large hail. However, damaging winds will be the main threat and more widespread, and we will likely only see large hail with the higher end severe thunderstorms. There is no apparent tornado threat, but an isolated conditional threat could exist, so it is best to be prepared for all scenarios.

After the frontal passage, we won’t see a break from the rain for the foreseeable future as another couple of systems are going to make their way through later this week into the weekend, as well as next week. Make sure to have your rain coats and umbrellas handy!
