Some unsettled weather will impact the region this week, but it does not appear to stick around long. The strong high pressure ridge that has been influencing our weather recently looks to remain mostly stationary in the southwestern U.S. Showers and thunderstorms will likely fire due to the instability and buoyancy of this warm and moist air mass and will seemingly “ride” the ridging pattern. Temperatures will stay mostly enjoyable in the mid-80s throughout the forecast period.

Heading into the weekend the possibility of a cold front is indicated by model guidance, which would allow for the return of showers and thunderstorms Friday into Saturday, however the system does not appear to be threatening any severe weather at this time.
