Look for wintery weather to come over the next couple of days. Today, a potent cold front accompanied by some rain showers moves through the region, which will bring down temperatures drastically. This will set the stage for some wintery precipitation Thursday into Friday morning. The high temperature Thursday will only be in the upper 30s as much colder air pools into the area. It will also be a windy day with gusts in excess of 30 mph anticipated. As temperatures continue to drop overnight, any liquid precipitation will turn to snow. There won’t be much accumulation with this system, but still, around an inch of snow could fall Thursday night. That snow won’t stick around for very long, because we will have another transition back to rain Friday morning. Chances for rain showers continue into Saturday as temperatures rebound back to around 50 degrees by Sunday.
