Forecast Discussion

Dry air behind the cold front that passed earlier today and the presence of upper level zonal flow will keep precipitation at bay tonight and Saturday. Mid level moisture and a upper level trough to the north will keep cloud cover over the area for the rest of the weekend. High pressure from the west will clear up clouds on Sunday. Another major midlatitude cyclone looks to hit the region on Monday as the warm front of the system. Precipitation could be significant as current models show possible rainfall around one to two inches. The system will likely be out of the region by New Year’s Day.
