Moisture from the tropics will continuously flow through Ohio, which will be responsible for possible showers and storms tonight. On Saturday, the remains of Gordon work their way into the Ohio Valley region as showers continue. A front remains stall to the south that also serves to keep moisture flowing through the region. Saturday night will be the first period where heavy rain and possible flooding will be a possibility. The exit region of the trough will contain a jet streak that contains strong shear. This will work with the deep-layered moisture to produce heavy rain. Flash flooding will be a possibility as rainfall totals could total around an inch in this time period. Sunday will see the passage of the warm front as the mid latitude cyclone fully enters Ohio. The heaviest rains look to arrive before late afternoon as shearing and moisture remain abundant. The NWS has rainfall total between 1 and 2 inches for the area, so flooding will be a possibility again due to previous rainfall and the continuation of heavy precipitation. Another trough arrives on Monday that will create slight chances for showers and storms and left over moisture from Gordon will create possible storms and showers for Tuesday and Wednesday as well.
