Forecast Discussion

A surface low is currently tracking through central Iowa. This system will arrive likely just before dawn to our forecast area, however there may be some isolated showers preceding this event. The greatest severe threat, associated with this system will be isolated damaging winds and the potential for flooding. A majority of the rain is expected to pass through the Athens region by late tomorrow afternoon but lingering showers cannot be ruled for Tuesday night. A cold front will move the region following the passage of this system, with temps peaking, at most, to the mid 80s on Wednesday.
