Forecast Discussion

Over the next week, we will be stuck in an omega-blocking pattern with a slow-moving trough in the Plains moving east and ridging along the west and east coasts. Due to this, clouds and chances of rain will linger throughout the week. Along the trough, a low-pressure system will move through the area with a warm front on Wednesday, allowing warmer temperatures into the mid-50s. Warm, moist air will move northward as a result increasing moisture content for rain to develop. Rain will linger through Thursday with a cold front moving through Friday morning. However, low-pressure located to the south will bring rain chances again heading into the weekend. It is suggestive up to one inch or more of rain is likely through Saturday with locally heavier amounts in spots.
