Forecast Discussion
Chilly conditions persist as a trough in the upper atmosphere continues to sit over Ohio. This trough will allow cold, Arctic air to keep our daytime and overnight temperatures chilly. A low-pressure system south of Ohio will soon travel northeast and, because of this, a cold front will move ahead of Athens. Westerly wind will bring colder air will make the chilly temperatures even colder, especially Sunday night. The chance for snow flurries will persist occasionally the next few days, but nothing heavy enough to really stick. Please make sure you bundle up these next few days, especially in the early mornings when the temperature will be at the coldest. If you need more resources about cold weather, make sure you visit the National Weather Service’s Cold Weather Safety page.
