Forecast Discussion
Dry, sunny conditions will continue through tonight through Monday. Aloft, a ridge is expected to remain over Ohio tonight and Sunday but will weaken in strength come Monday. The trough behind it will be fairly weak, but a surface cold front will pass over the region throughout the day on Tuesday. Rain chances may return ahead of this cold front, but accumulated precipitation is still relatively fuzzy at the moment. Still, it may be likely that we may see some locally heavy downpours, prompting the Weather Prediction Center to put much of Ohio under a marginal risk (at least 5%) for excessive rainfall. While storm chances are fairly minimal, at the current time there still remains a small possibility for an occasional rumble of thunder Tuesday into Wednesday morning as the cold front pushes through. However, thanks to this frontal passage, temperatures are expected to possibly bring us back into the mid-to-lower 70s starting Tuesday. By Wednesday, high-pressure will fill back in once more as another broad ridge fills back into place as clearer skies return.
