Forecast Discussion
An upper-level ridge and high-pressure at the surface will keep our region stable and dry for the next couple of days. Despite the amount of rain that fell today, enough moisture at the mid-levels and aloft likely will not be present for the start of the work week to allow substantial cloud development. Temperatures are expected to still be quite hot as this upper-level ridge and high-pressure combination reinforces a hot air bubble around much of the eastern United States. Stagnant, hot air will likely follow as a result of minimal wind Monday and Tuesday. However, moving into Wednesday and the remainder of the work week, a long line of cold fronts will push southeastward that is expected to not only possibly bring even more rain, but cool down our temperatures. With a high temperature around the mid-90s on Wednesday, Thursday’s high could be as much as 10 degrees cooler persisting into Friday and possibly even the weekend. Looking out past next weekend, however, we unfortunately could see temperatures begin to rise once more.
