Forecast Discussion

Tonight, rain will transition to snow as a strong cold front moves through. Conditions over the next two days will be winter like, with chances of snow and windy conditions. Accumulation of snow will be low because of the ground temperatures being too warm for most of the snow to stick. The National Weather Service Charleston, WV office predicts that Athens, OH will receive 1.4″ of snow between tonight at 7:00pm and Tuesday at 7:00am. Travel conditions will be hazardous for the Monday morning and evening commutes. Blowing snow could be present which will lead to low visibility. Conditions will clear out by Tuesday because of an incoming high pressure system.
