Currently, an occluding low-pressure system is just to our northwest, bringing overcast conditions to the region for the next several days. This system is weakening due to the vertical stacking at all levels and is moving very slowly to the east. Other than the overcast skies, we will not see any substantial impacts until Wednesday when rain chances increase as well as the small chances for some thunderstorms. These rain chances will linger through Friday as the system continues to weaken and stall over the area. Afternoon highs will sit around the mid-70s this week as Athens transitions into fall.
